Not quite being happy with the contents of the available field operation guides (FOGs), I decided to start the FOGTeX project on Github. My aim is to have a framework, consisting of a LaTeX document class and a PHP FOG builder that can be used to create a customisable FOG that will allow:

• people to create their own FOGs that contain only the information they want from a collection of information
• people to contribute contents to a FOG
• teams to have custom FOG styling and pages

My current aims are to:

• rewrite the pgfmorepages class to become more flexible to allow cards of any size
• convert the NZ USAR FOGs to LaTeX
