I decided to rename the business I created in high school again as the previous name, The Weld Studio, implied the wrong field (welding instead of computer engineering). I ended up choosing Meld Computer Engineering and wanted a cool logo that showed the melding of ideas into a defined arrangement.
Quite a few years ago, I had played around with ActionScript and Macromedia (as it was back then) Flash to create a computer generated swarm of boxes that went back and forth. I decided to do the same kind of thing for the logo. Instead of using the (now pretty much obsolete) technology, I decided to use the new and great HTML5 and Scalable Vector Graphics (SVG). I created a Javascript to create the logo out of small squares and then set each of the squares in random (speed and next placement) motion. I added events to the SVG so that a user could click or hover over the logo to either make the squares go in their random patterns or to quickly align into the correct logo.
The finished product can be seen on the MeldCE web site.
